LINCOLN CEILIDHS

We organise a regular evening ceilidh in Lincoln.  It’s a great opportunity to come along and take part in lots of dancing, meet new people and start the weekend!  The ceilidhs feature lots of great music provided by Liam and friends, including regular guest musicians. No previous experience is needed – and the dances are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

All dances start at 8pm and finish around 10 :30pm

The community centre is behind Victor Patterson’s Tailors, just south of Dixon Street in Lincoln.  There is no parking at the venue, but there is plenty of free on-street parking in the local area. 

Homemade refreshments and soft drinks are available at the venue. BYO welcome.



 

This years Lincoln BIG Morris Festival takes place on Sat 4th and Sun 5th Sept 10.

“Great to see some English traditions alive and kicking”

There will be performances in down hill Lincoln between 10:30am and 12:30pm on Sat 4th and uphill Lincoln between 2pm and 4pm.  With the final massed display taking place in Minster Yard (outside the West end of the cathedral) between 3pm and 4pm.  As usual there will be a lunchtime musicians jam session.

On Saturday night there will be a grand Ceilidh at Lincoln Drill Hall with music from the Liam Robinson Trio and a dance display by Poacher Morris.

“Lovely to see the dancing. Brightens Lincoln up!”

This year see more activities on Sunday 5th Sept.  For those who fancy having a go, There will be a Border Morris workshop with Poacher Morris and a Morris music with Liam at Bishop Grosseteste University College, followed by a screening of the film “Morris: A Life with Bells on” at the Bishop Greaves Theatre at the college.
